Director, Digital Strategy

The Director, Digital Strategy, leads direction and development of digital-first integrated content strategies across channels, environments, and industries, for clients and new business initiatives. The position is responsible for driving client partnerships, being responsible for driving digital campaign planning and managing effective service delivery. The Director, Digital Strategy, oversees team members responsible for managing digital and social campaigns across a portfolio of brands on a day-to-day basis.

 Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple client workstreams and or projects from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, setting up proper measurement frameworks and reporting, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing quality, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence

  • Mentor and upskill junior digital strategy staff to help develop new skill sets, specialize within our capabilities, and improve client relationship building and communication.

  • Partner with creative professionals to develop compelling brand content that motivates audiences to action.

  • Help set client strategy for client’s teams in partnership with PR teams.

  • Lead and support creation of proposals and strategy documents.

  • Serve as a primary digital point of contact for key clients, qualifying needs for specialization and helping to identify service solutions for their brands.

  • Inform and drive evolution of content strategy offerings and new ways of working.

  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of digital tools, methods, program effectiveness, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to lead a team in both work-from-home or work-from-office environments.

  • Strong digital skills with thorough understanding of social and digital platforms.

  • Understanding of digital channel requirements, data analytics and digital best practices.

  • Experience directing creative professionals to produce effective cross-platform content.

  • Ability to think commercially and understand marketing return on investment.

  • Strong focus on strategy, flawless execution and campaign performance analysis and reporting.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Broad understanding of all communication disciplines.

  • Ability to solve problems quickly and thoroughly.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have 8+ years of post-graduate, relevant professional experience in digital marketing, social media, public relations, advertising, consulting, media, publishing, or a related field.

  • 5+ years’ experience acting as senior client-relationship manager, responsible for managing teams, qualifying business, scoping and project management within budget.

  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of social media platforms and digital environments, a proven ability and passion for creative thinking in partnership with other strategy leads, creatives, influencer marketers, paid media and analytics team members.

  • Candidates should have experience in content planning, production, and management for brand campaigns and more evergreen efforts.

  • They should be able to speak to previous responsibilities developing and executing plans to meet measurable client goals, as well as ability to manage senior client relationships at the executive level.

·       Proven experience in leading a team, including external agency partners.

  • They should have a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, additional working experience in a relevant field, and have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
